THE MIDDLE PILLAR EXERCISE

   Simple yet profound, The Middle Pillar Exercise connects and balances different levels of the psyche, activating five primary chakras, or energy centers, in the aura, from the crown, just above the head, down to the feet. If you perform the ritual effectively, you establish a link between the higher self and the "lower" personality and recognize, in the process, the divinity of all aspects of the self. The Exercise is a powerful addition to the Qabalistic Cross and the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram (LBRP). If performed effectively, the Exercise can help ground you while opening you to higher spiritual vibrations in preparation for other powerful rituals, such as the Supreme Invoking Ritual of the Pentagram.
   However, the Middle Pillar Exercise can have an unbalancing effect on anyone with psychological challenges, even more so than the LBRP. It is strongly recommended that you perform the LBRP daily for several weeks before you attempt the Middle Pillar Exercise.

STEP ONE: Do the Qabalistic Cross and the LBRP, and when finished, relax into a calm, meditative state.

Review the Qabalistic Cross and the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram.

STEP TWO: Imagine a sphere of white brilliance--your core self, your link with the divine--at the crown of your head. Vibrate Eh-heh-yeh, (the God-name for Kether, the top sphere on the Tree of Life) three times, imagining that the light becomes brighter as the sound resonates, filling the sphere.

STEP THREE: Visualize a beam of light descending down through your head to the nape of your neck, growing into a ball of white brilliance at your throat. As you visualize the two spheres connected by the beam of light, vibrate Yud-Heh-Vav-Heh Eloheem three times, understanding that you are bringing the light of divinity from your higher self down the planes. Again imagine the sound of the God-name filling the sphere and making it brighter.

STEP FOUR: Envision a beam of light continuing down through your torso to your solar plexus. Understand that the solar plexus represents your conscious mind. Vibrate Yud-Heh-Vav-Heh El-oh-ah V’Dah-aht three times as the light grows as bright as the sun.

STEP FIVE: See the light descend to your groin area and form a sphere. Vibrate Shah-dai El Chai (the ch gutteral, as in “Bach”) three times while imagining yourself a master in dominion of your “lower” personality.

STEP SIX: Envision the light descending to form a sphere that encompasses the feet and extends below the ground. Vibrate Ah-doh-nye Ha-ahr-etz three times while imagining that you are completely grounded, connected with the Earth, as the God-name vibrates through the sphere.

STEP SEVEN: Circulate the brilliant light from the bottom sphere to the top of your head, imagining sparkling light rising up your back and then spilling down the front of your body. Circulate the light up your back and down your front three times.

STEP EIGHT: The fourth time, envision the light rising up your back, then spilling down the left side of your body and rising again up the right side of your body. Circulate the light down your left side and up your right side three times, allowing the light to return to the sphere at your feet.

STEP NINE: Then, visualize the light rising through the center of your body, making the brilliant spheres even brighter. Imagine the light fountaining high above your head and falling back down around you.

STEP TEN: You can finish here with the LBRP or continue with the Supreme Invoking Ritual of the Pentagram (or some other magic).
